Introduction 

 

I have always been fascinated by classical painting. I started my series "Posthuman Studies after Ingres" few years ago, inspired by Rosi Braidotti, the radical thinker about posthuman knowledge. 

Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres was a French painter and one of the most important representatives of official art in 19th century France. My most recurrent motif is Mme. de Rothschild; you see it at the donor-picture (Stifterbild), that I reinterpret in many different ways. 

Since 1989, when I started exhibitions with curator Peter Weiermair, I have remained true to the body and its image, but also I worked and I'm still working as Portrait-Painter. 

My neoclassical series Posthuman Studies after Ingres is constantly being expanded and will be shown in a very good gallery in Austria next year.
